Olivia “Ghost” Jane Fazekas Stivala is an Animation and VFX major at Drexel University. They specialize in 3D modeling and animation in addition to 2D animation and character design. For the most part, they are self taught artist that prefers to work in 2D but, due to the curriculum at Drexel, are working to learn elements of CGI.
Ghost primarily works in programs such as Maya and Adobe Suite, and when digital programs are not needed, turns to a pad of paper and pencil or acrylic paint; They are experienced in creating both digital works and traditional works. They have worked at NewPoint Strategies as a character designer and collaborated with a team to improve and take critique on their designs.
They have created a number of 3D animations that showcase their proficiency with the Maya program. The most notable of which being a 30-second animation set to the song “Time Warp” from The Rocky Horror Picture Show where the titular characters are transformed into dancing party supplies. Last but not least, they composed a short video that includes 2D animated characters dancing on video taken from real life locations on Drexel’s campus.
Ghost has had an undying passion for animation and art since they saw their first Looney Toons short and wants to share their stories with the world through 2D animation. They would be satisfied working as a 2D animator for the rest of their life, however, they would not be opposed to directing their own show or even opening their own studio. On the other hand, when Ghost is not dreaming of being the next Richard Williams or James Baxter, they enjoy drawing or writing in their free time, working on designing characters and telling said characters’ stories. They enjoy the occasional video game and spending time with friends, often combining their love for storytelling and companionship with a session of Dungeons and Dragons.
Ghost is currently working towards a short 3D animation with a classmate, getting the 3D model ready and writing the story. They currently reside down the Jersey shore in Margate City with their father and step mom and two rambunctious dogs.
